My heart aches

To all the parents that lost a loved one in yesterday's horrific and senseless killing, we want you all to know that you are in our hearts the world feels your pain and we are all praying for you , with you.
I can't imagine your pain when you opened your doors and not see your babies 11 days before the holidays. Gifts that will never be opened, toys that will never be played with, voices and laughter that will never be heard again.
My heart aches for you all, I am crying for your loss.
For those of us that are fortunate enough to hug our kids today please do so and let them know that you love them every single day and never let them leave that house or get on that bus without ever saying goodbye and I love you.
Our prayers are with you all.

Life After Sandy

Hey All,
Hope everyone is well or as well as can be .....
Sandy kicked our asses, I knew it was gonna be bad but jeez I guess I didn't know it was gonna be this bad.  I have never been so damn scared in my life. We all huddled in TJ's room as his room is the only one that doesn't have a tree looming over it, I would not allow any of the kids to go into our room as we have a humongous tree hanging right by the window. We had the babies crib mattresses on the floor which they thought was just so much fun as they could flip from one end to the other ( Isn't innocence great). I couldn't sleep the wind was whipping the trees outside we kept hearing cracking sounds and all I was thinking about was how was I gonna scoop everyone up when that tree started to fall. The house was shaking, I swear I was gonna die... It was horrible

Thank God the worst that happened was our gutter broke off and 2 trees fell in the front of the yard missing our neighbors yard by about an inch. We still have no power we have been by my sisters for a while now the babies are having a ball much to the dismay of her neighbor who came knocking on the door bright and early this morning that we need to keep the noise down as she is trying to sleep. Lady do you realize that these kids are up at 5:30 and I am doing you a favor by not letting them run in the house by giving you a whole extra hour of sleep :)

Anyway that's us for now.. praying for all of you who are also displaced, have lost loved ones, homes or just cold.

How to know if you are a good mom/dad (Checklist)

1.  Always having goldfish, cheerios or some other variation of snacks in your purse
2. Extra diapers/ clothes stashed in the car, purse 
3. Placing your daughters barrette in your hair so they don't get lost 
4. One foot of random socks in your pocket 
5. Wondering why is the smell of poop following you around and realizing that you missed a spot and now its on your favorite jeans/sweats.
6. You smell like puke and you really don't care
7. You have a big snot mark on your sleeve or trousers because your honey just kissed you goodbye but your late for work and there is no time to change.
8. Standing in line in the grocery store looking for your credit card, to realize that  someone was playing with your purse/wallet and you forgot to put your cards back in 
9. Having your kids puke all over you and you find it hilarious 
10. Looking at your kids sleeping and knowing that they are the best thing that could have happened to you.

OMG can you all believe it's Monday already have you ever wondered why doesn't the week go as fast as the weekends ?
We had a pretty decent weekend, we started our weekend off by going to the library while Sani read and Maddi created havoc in the library by ripping down their fall decorations and tried to use the librarians computer. While I was trying to re-stick the decorations on the wall he was running down the hall to see what he could find in the other rooms; needless to say the trip to the library was very short to Sani's disappointment we had to check our books out and leave.
Saturday we checked out Giggles it was OK nothing to be too excited about the kids would have had more fun but they were older kids rough housing in the 3 and under section, but they did enjoy running around the area. Sunday Sani and I had a girls day out we went shopping and she helped to pick out her bubble bath, while the boys hung out at home. I even got a nap in the afternoon !!!!!!!! I KNOW I CAN'T BELIEVE IT EITHER  CRAZY FOOLISHNESS :)

Friday Thoughts

Hi All,
Well it's Friday HALLELUJAH !!!! What does the weekend mean to you ? Rest, Relaxation, lots of mommy and daddy special juice/milk  :)

 Usually before babies  it would mean relaxation, sitting on the couch with a magazine with a line up of good movies to watch catching up on shows on DVR that we missed during the week, but now the only thing that is missing is I don't have to be in front of my computer for work WOOHOO, as there is always something to do never a dull moment

Troy turned 13yrs on Wednesday I still can't believe it my first baby boy is now a teenager !!!  his party is tomorrow, that should be fun he and a friend are having a combined party with 50 give or take of their closest friends, then party on Sunday with the babies full weekend !!!

Howdy All,

We have experienced a torpedo over here with these kids, Crazy Foolishness I tell you but we have all survived we are on the mend thank God and hoping for better health in the days and weeks to come. So quick recap for you all.

• Maddi had a fever for a month, fever is gone and now has a cold (Yay) Getting better
• Sani had a bad ear infection was in the hospital (That's all cleared up) Yay
• Sani has club foot, currently wearing a cast to straighten her foot and has a cold :) Getting better ..Yay
• T.J. broke his foot playing football also wearing a cast.. now can run in his cast so getting better.. getting cast removed in 1.5 wks ...Yay Getting better
• Mom and Dad  TIYAAD NUH RASS ... That's not getting better :(

Thanks for all the support from everyone we really appreciate it, now if you all would now volunteer to babysit every now and again that would be fabulous and maybe Mom and Dad could get start feeling better soon YAY ...

Happy Friday, looking forward to Friday evening so I can have some Mommy's milk :)

Come on kids seriously!!! What exactly is going on here? OK this is a venting blog.... here goes.
We were released from the hospital yesterday afternoon as the drainage stopped or should I say there is no more blood thank God, she is currently still on the antibiotic ear drops along with oral antibiotics with side effects of diarrhea and getting better everyday. Thank God
Maddi still has his persistent fever which has been going on for 2 wks, along with spurts of diarrhea also, we did lab work on him yesterday some of the results are in which shows he is close to dehydration and his white blood cells are high which shows signs of an infection so waiting for the other test results to come back and pushing as much liquids as we can. We will be trying the pedialyte pops tomorrow hope he likes it.
Now for the whopper Troy sprained his ankle ( or so we think ) tonight at football he looks like big foot right now. He can't put pressure on it he's on crutches; I tell you this has to be a conspiracy!! Kids I'm warning you all cut it out!! Your mother's heart cannot take it.
His foot is so swollen I'm not sure if he can get them into shoes tomorrow for school ... crazy just crazy.

Sanaa's update

Hi everyone
So as you may or may not know we are in the hospital at St. Barnabas since last afternoon. Sanaa' is bleeding from her right ear and quite frankly I'm not sure if what they are saying to us make any sense but who knows I'm not a Dr but I'm not just gonna take what they are saying in stride until I can speak directly to her ENT.
History: About a wk and half ago noticed real funky smell coming from her ear took her in to Dr he gave her ear drops, once ear drop started all this goopy stuff started coming out mix of pus and blood real sticky, about Wednesday smell subsided still yucky stuff. Friday just pus coming out, Saturday bright red running blood I wipe it, it comes back repeat.
Tried calling dr all afternoon Saturday no response from him took her to St.Claire's ER offered her antibiotics sent her home. Sunday morning woke up still bleeding called Dr finally he responded said to take her immediately to ER St.B. they tried to look in too much blood, its decided they are admitting her until bleeding is under control .
She did great to get her IV in not too much screaming but hates it when anyone touches her face so u know I have to be holding her down while everyone is poking and prodding around in her ear.
They will decide tomorrow if they need to do a cat scan on her.
Meanwhile baby  brother is home with a fever .....

Another baby walks (Olympic Style)

Exactly one week later on August 8th baby Maddox took to the stands and he was off like Bolt, while being chased by Sani (The Beast Blake) it was an exciting moment here at our location on the hills seeing the 2 little competitors trying to go for the gold, but getting knocked down by this pesky little thing known as balance.

Ok babies you can do it, as they both crawl back to the starting blocks (couch) they pick themselves up and they are off again.... by golly I think we are going to have a tie but no wait Maddi the Bolt is turning the corner he is doing it like a pro ( the crowd goes wild) magnificent performance if I might say so myself and Sani the Beast is coming in swiftly as she waves her hands in the air already rejoicing in her victory...by golly all its a tie they have both won the GOLDDDDDDD. Outstanding Performance Babies we will see you all again same time right here after our morning nap.

Baby Talk--Baby Walk

A week before their birthday the babies vocabulary has expanded dramatically.

Maddi has always said random words here and there but nothing consistent but now here's a list of what they say:

Sani - Thank You, All Done, Up-Down, Sh (shoes), Dada, nana (banana) Up-stairs
Maddi- Mama, Done, Up-Down, Sh (shoes) Dada, Car, Yesh (yes) dog, stairs, Dada, Dis (this) Got-it

Big news everyone yesterday Sani finally did it she WALKED ....alert the press, call the Today Show get Matt Lauer on the story :) She finally did it ...now Maddi is trying to figure out how the heck did she do that :)

Babies are 1, party is done, clean up begins :)

The party was a success ! I think everyone had fun about 2hrs into the celebration the skies opened and it we got a shower of blessing. Aunty Janny painted hands, we had a treasure hunt we were to play musical chairs but that got washed out by the rain. Here are some of the pics enjoy

4 Days to go !!

I can hardly believe it, in 4 more days my little ones will be 1Year old, where did the time go? It's been one whirlwind heck of a ride, but hey we survived it thank God :) We are standing, had a few medical bumps along the way but all in all we are pretty good.
Busy planning the party and the menu, I think they will have a good time. Will update you with pics on Sunday from the party wish us luck.

Wow I'm tall 

11 Mth Updates

Hello everyone,
It's been crazy around here, busy with activities and stuff, fun filled weekends and much much more. So as you know babies birthday will be in approximately 15 more days. I still cannot believe it has been a year, it has been the most rewarding, fun, happy sometimes frustrating and tiring year ever but, through it all I think I can safely say we have all had a blast.

We went to our annual Fourth of July BBQ that was nice babies couldn't enjoy the pool as Maddi has a double ear infection but is now on antibiotics poor baby. Then on Friday July 6th hubby and I celebrated our 5th yr anniversary and 10 years of being together that was pretty special. On Saturday July 7th Nana and Grand-Father came by to baby sit so we could go out we went on a dinner-dance cruise http://www.cornucopiacruise.com/ which was really, really nice we ate, we danced we had a really good time.

Maddi is finally saying MAMA, Sani calls me Nana I think :) they are taking few steps here and there but not fully walking yet so hopefully soon, but hey no rush as that just means more work for me :)

Busy planning the birthday party, I'm so excited about it, I think I should be a party planner :)

I will post pics later, but now I have to get to work as the kids are down for their nap.

When will these kids say Mama!!

I mean enough is enough now!! I know they have to go in order of consonants and blah blah blah, but don't u think of all the things or sounds to say they could just say Mama first like really is that too much to ask?
Whenever I hear them babbling and of course saying da da da and even this morning what sounded from Maddi Daddy while looking at Adri I happily chimed in my two cents saying to him Ma Ma and of course he just looked at me and laughed and went on to say Da da day ... I mean really now kids come on throw your mama a Mum Mum some puffs something sheesh
Any hoo I will keep on pressing on and alert the village when they finally say those precious words MaMa

Father's Day Pics -Bear Mountain N.Y.

Father's day was great, I think hubby really enjoyed it. Started off with Sani and I making breakfast for dad while the boys slept, we made French toast with blueberry cheese and apples, with fresh apples and strawberries. Sanaa' helped by taking the fork upstairs but reluctantly gave it over to dad :) We packed up and we were out for our picnic day at Bear Mountain.
On the menu we had chips and guacamole dip, sushi, strawberries and whipped cream, chicken wrap with chimichurri spread, ham and turkey sandwich, peach with coconut cheesecake and Flip Flop Moscato wine ... YUM :)
