Work Smarter not Harder !!
Sorry all it's been pretty busy here for the last couple of days. Worked the Optical show at the Javits Center which was pretty awesome but so tiring.
For some quick updates Ms. Sani's top tooth has finally broken free you can now see a spec of white... WOOHOO FOR SANI !!!!!
Maddi has finally crawled forward on the floor, he has been doing it on the bed but would never try on the floor so WOOHOO for Maddi.
Ever wondered sometimes why we work harder but not smarter? I do ... For 7 months hubby and I have stood by the sink every evening and washed dirty bottles sometimes 10 sometimes 20 depending if we were too tired to wash the night before, but just 2 weekends ago we were both so exhausted so I said to him I just can't do this tonight let's put them in the dishwasher and LO and BEHOLD the dishwasher can wash the bottles who knew ?????
OMG what a time saver .. and why haven't we done this before ??? I have no idea but trust me the dishwasher is my new best friend :) We have been using Palmolive Eco friendly and it would leave the dishes all white and chalky so I decided to live on the edge a little and bought Cascade. WOW it's amazing my dishes are all sparkling and new :) It's the little things that makes me happy.

Can a child under 1 year old be potty trained ?
This is a post that I read today on Parents Baby. My answer to that question is who has the time to do that? One mom of seven commented that she started potty training at 10 weeks !! 10 weeks I think that's just heights of foolishness and she would wake up to bring the baby to the potty who is now 10 mths old. JEEZ. I guess it is possible as her super child has done it, but seriously who has the time ??
I mean you would be saving on wipes and definitely diapers as we need to start buying stocks with Huggies.
If the babies are ready I think I will start at about a yr and a half if they are ready before that then we will, if not then hey.... we just won't. I mean sometimes I think to myself my goodness this poopy should be in a toilet no mommy should ever have to smell this :) I just can't even begin to imagine chasing two kids around trying to get them to sit and go potty.

What a Day !!
Hello All,
Hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Our weekend was chucked full of goodness and of course super busy. We visited family on Saturday and spent the day cruising the mall on Sunday haven't done that in a while so it was nice to get out.
Yesterday the boys had their Allergist appointments. Troy is hoping that he has outgrown some of his allergies and is able to try new foods so we go for blood work on Saturday.
Maddox unfortunately more of the same or should I say worst yesterday in particular as it was a warm day, and as his body temp rises the more he itches. We are now trying a new cream (Locoid) we will see how that goes for him, yesterday while waiting for the Dr to come in the nurse asked me to take his clothes off to get weighed etc and that the Dr would be right in, however he gets increasingly itchy when his skin is exposed. Needless to say as we waited I could smell his skin getting raw as he was ripping at his skin and screaming. It was so painful to watch him in such discomfort.
I really hope we can figure this out soon.
In addition to that, I usually take with me extra bottles of milk just in case as you know you can never be too prepared, but of course with the day I was having Maddi decided that he was super hungry and drank all his bottle and wanted more, I reached in to grab the next bottle and three quarters of the bottle had spilled in the bag. GREAT !!!!! What now ??? I had to offer him some of his sister's milk which increases the itchy OMG !! He only drank a half ounce thank goodness.
I am just happy that yesterday is behind us and hopefully today will be a better day as I sit and wait for my work system to load (-:
Oh by the way Maddi is crawling he went forward today.. WOOHOOOOO !!!

Reflection
Time is defined as The indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.
When you take a moment and think about a certain period in your life when you were most happy, fulfilled, disheartened and or just filled with content this is always linked to a certain time, or season in your life. As these 7mths have flown by I stop and look at these babies and look at my older son Troy and wonder to myself when did we all get here, it's amazing to see the growth, the development that is constantly evolving right before my eyes. They are all so independent now, Troy wanting to hang out with his friends I dare not say to him did you have a good play date with your friends as at his age it's not a play date anymore it's hanging out. The babies not needing me to hold them as much as they now want to explore and be on the floor and just be....
Time, it's going by way too fast for my liking, my pediatrician said to us on Monday see you in 3 months and I thought to myself OMG they will be 11 mths then where did the time go.
Cherish every moment that you have been given,as you can never recapture TIME.

Like father, Like Son
If anyone knows my hubby well they all know he LOVES to sleep:) Wherever and whenever he gets the opportunity he is out :) He is so good at it that he can actually carry a conversation, fall asleep and joins the conversation and be right on target, it boggles me every time he does it.
Apparently Maddox is the exact same way, I have noticed that he has done it a few times before while at dinner, he will be eating and before you know it he just knocks out with food in his mouth and then 2-3 minutes later he pops back up and continues eating oblivious to the fact that he was actually sleeping. (Dad does the same thing, thankfully not with food in his mouth) :)
Yesterday however was just the funniest, Adri had him in his arms and he was busily bouncing on his lap, he leaned in to Adri's shoulder did a little nose shuffle and then few seconds later we heard snoring, we both looked at each other and busted out laughing we couldn't believe it. He snoozed for about 5-10 mins then he was up again. Then it happened again right before bed time, we were all having dinner Adri fed him a little piece of what he was having and in between chewing and bouncing he knocked out again. What the heck !!! We couldn't believe it twice in one day.
All I could think of was that I am so going to have a talk with his girlfriend and let her know that he really isn't trying to ignore her, he just can't help it he is just like his dad. Like father, like son too cute :)

Juggling Act
Some-days I really wish I was an octopus as I could really use those extra tentacles right about now. With the babies getting increasingly mobile there is just not enough arms to keep up with what they want to do. Sanaa' is now moving backwards and let me tell you that girl is moving! She gets up on all fours does her rocking motion, pushes forward and for some reason goes backwards and she's off, and now because she always smells like PUFFS (her fav treat) Juno is usually close by which is her motivation. It's hilarious to watch.
Maddox who was moving backwards has now come to a halt as he has now found a new favorite thing and all he wants to do now is hold on and practice walking around, he refuses to sit or even lay down. ITS CRAZY !!!! Our best time is during diaper changes, normally one baby is always close by as I am changing the other so either Sani does a body roll while hanging on to my shirt or whatever else she can catch her tiny hands on to pull herself up or Maddi who does this weird rotation with his neck and arches his back and pulls himself up, and both instances while I am changing one or the other.
Ever tried practice walking with two babies all at once, while one baby is going left and the other is trying to catch a dog? Yup Crazzzzzyyyy...

Redshirting .. Holding Kids Back
I watched an article which was profiled on CBS News regards to Redshirting (gaming the system). This was actually the first time I came across this term and was surprised by it, but impressed with the thought process behind it and what some parents will do to ensure that their kids get ahead.
Redshirting is basically holding your child back a year from starting Kindergarten at age 5, which would then allow them that additional year to learn more social, reading and developmental skills. In the video it states that studies have shown that Redshirting does have some positive impacts in years to come, where your kids would be placed in gifted programs because of their already budding development but has drawbacks where the kids would or could be bored in class as they already know the material.
I would be interested to know what are your views on this topic?

New Tooth
Call the Enquirer, call the Star, shoot call TMZ .... Maddi has a TOOTH woohoo : ) It finally came in, he made it before Easter, I was almost sure I would be staging two Chiclets in his mouth for his Easter pics but he got it. Sanaa' had hers at 5mths, Troy had his at 3mths and here comes Maddox at 7mths, better late than never right??
It came in with not much pain or discomfort, just a cold but they say it's not related so who knows. Sanaa' was in pain she screamed, she wouldn't eat, she had a fever it was horrible poor little baby. So I was so relieved that his came in without the extra theatrics as he has enough to deal with as it is
To top that off they are both now rocking on their knees but still going backwards, and today Ms.Sani held on to one of her toys and pulled herself u to standing three times of course I missed the first one on video as I was too excited and couldn't find the phone, but I got the other 2 WOOHOO !!!! What a day, what a piece a excitement !!!!!
Let's see what these two will be up to tomorrow :)

Relaxation
The weekend was awesome we had such a good time. First we went to visit a day care center and realized tuition for both babies would be more than our mortgage.. talk about sticker shock !! After that we went to visit Aunty Janny it was great babies had a ball, Aunty Janny had such a good time with them with getting oodles of kisses and hugs and if anyone sees her today and one leg is more toned than the other there is a simple explanation to that. Maddox was happily bouncing himself vigorously on just one leg, while Sanaa' chewed on her shoulders and cheeks.
I however took the time to lay on the couch, do some internet browsing and just relax, it was great. Daddy even joined us, he had some lunch found a pillow and a sheet and he was out :)
Sunday Juno and I went for a walk it was amazing, the fresh crisp morning air, bears in hibernation so didn't have to be looking over my shoulders to see if any was lurking around, and then we ended our trail by sitting on the dock looking out at the lake while the sun danced on the waters. It was so peaceful.
To top it off both babies slept through the night I woke up feeling weird, out of sorts .... Yes I missed this this is what rest feels like. So fingers crossed, here's for hoping that I will get more of this great thing known as relaxation!!!
Check in tomorrow and have an AWESOME week

Baby Food
I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas :) We started on baby food just about a month ago and what a joy it has been to see them enjoying the foods that we prepare. We received as a gift Baby Cook by BAEBA it's fabulous. All you have to do is cut up the fruits or whatever you would like to feed them drop it in, it steams, then you puree. They have been enjoying bananas, apples, pears, carrots, peas and then sometimes you know we have to mix it up so I do fruits and veggies together, the other day we mashed green bananas with a little of their formula and yum they loved it.
Sanaa' absolutely loves pears, Maddi seems to like squash or let's be honest he likes them all :) well except for chicken which was store bought and I have to agree with him it was not that pleasing to the taste bud.
We however started buying different fruit variations from the store like pears and pineapple, or sweet potato and chicken which I am sure I can do myself and will be trying this weekend.
Aunty Jan told us about these little finger foods called Graduates Puffs and OMG Sanaa' loves them, now I actually have to hide the container until she finishes her lunch and dinner or that's all she wants to have.(Silly baby). She has actually mastered her pincer grip and feeding herself, it's amazing as last week she wasn't able to do so. Maddox has no interest in them, he makes faces whenever I try to offer him one, or he uses his hand to knock them to the floor and looks down while Juno happily devours them.
It's amazing to watch them and see them maturing right before our eyes, what a joy this journey has been so far can't wait to experience more.
