All is well

As you may or may not know, Sanaa' was born with fluids in her ear as she was not squeezed through the birth canal to eliminate the excess fluid that surrounded her. We have been taking her to see an audiologist since she was 4 weeks old and they have concluded that she has some minimal hearing loss.
About 1 month ago we took her to see Dr. Berg an ENT specialist and he mentioned that if the fluid hadn't drained from her ears by this month then we had to bring her in for surgery to insert small tubes in her ear to drain the fluid.

Well today was the day. She was not to eat or should I say drink any formula after 12 midnight but thankfully the nurse called and said she could have clear liquids up to 4:30 am so for the first time we offered her very diluted white grape juice around 3:15am. she drank about 1.5 oz of it.
We were up and out as we had to be there by 6:30am she was the first surgery of the day for Dr. B. and she was such a trooper, she was smiling, happy and babbling the whole time, I was surprised she wasn't wailing and needing her bottle she was a very brave girl. Everyone commented on how cute and tiny she was :)
At 7:38am Dr. B came in to explain the procedure again, we were both dressed and ready to go her in her gown and very big yellow socks and I in my scrubs, we walked back the anesthesiologist was having a hard time finding a mask to fit her face, I laid her down they were all talking to her and she was so very observant looking around and taking in her surroundings and then she started to cry. The nurses assured me that she would fall asleep faster as she wound be inhaling more and in just a few more cries she was asleep, it broke my heart to see her just zonk out like that so as I walked away I felt the tears coming, but there was a nurse there who told me that all the parents cried so not to worry she would be fine. Dr. B. said you won't have time for coffee she will be done in no time, and literally she really was.

All I had time to do was go to the ladies room to freshen up, grab a cup of coffee from the lounge and on my way back there was Dr.B. looking for me and telling me she was fine. Incredible!
When I walked into recovery she was screaming, it took a while to settle her down but all in all she is doing amazingly, she is a little cranky but that is to be expected.
Before Surgery with her big yellow socks :)
Me and my girl and below her trying to crawl away :)
Today is also the first day that they have been separated, I think Maddi noticed she wasn't here
