Does size really matter ??

So I have a confession to make, well I really haven't lied about it but I haven't really shared here so here goes. I think my belly is way too big...... there I said it... whew I guess that wasn't so bad after all.

So since I was about 4 mths preggo ppl have been saying to me " Wow you look like your ready to drop, or OMG what are you doing out here, you are so low you must be going soon" and my response has always been "No I'm just 4, 5, 6 mths I am not due till August" Is anyone else going through this or am I alone?

We went to our Marvelous Multiples class last Saturday it was from 9-4 and I must say I was looking forward to it as I was almost sure that there would be at least 2 women there with the size belly like mine as it was a multiples class right... WRONG.. all of these women had these little teeny tiny bellies I couldn't believe it, was I the only freak show ???? I must admit I started crying, yup in the class I couldn't help the tears, and most were due in July and ok they were all saying how tired they were and all that good stuff, and I'm looking at them like you all have no idea what tired is...

I am now currently 46in around, my belly is hanging so low when I sit, my belly is pretty much half way on my legs.

So I had my Perinatal appt today and asked the Dr why is my belly so big, so she pretty much laughed and said I am a pretty good size for a woman carrying twins, so I guess that wraps it up huh ...

But, I am ok now I stopped stressing, the babies are healthy and growing and I am A-OK with my big belly :)

  1. I wonder how big the other women are normally, relative to how big you are. You look pretty small to me, particularly in the hip area.

I have a theory that baby can stay inside longer, and therefore the belly is smaller, in people who have larger hips because there's more area in there. So if you have small hips, you have less room and baby/babies start poking out sooner and create a larger belly.

Plus, if you're small to begin with, it ends up looking a lot larger on you than on a bigger person. Not that that probably helps since you probably feel like a whale a lot faster if you're usually small, but still.

  2. I have to agree, my doc said I look huge since I have no room around my hips for the poor kid to sit in. And since I'm on the thin side there's no "hiding" anything. But like you Chris, I've come to terms w/ it :) I proudly say I'm huge & the kid isn't due for another 2mths so what

  3. Thanks Mikki and FLC that makes me feel much better and I love that concept about the hips. I could go with that :)
